The Beatitudes
5 And seeing the multitudes, He went up on a mountain, and when He was seated His disciples came to Him. 2 Then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying:
3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are those who mourn,
For they shall be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek,
For they shall inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
For they shall be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful,
For they shall obtain mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart,
For they shall see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers,
For they shall be called sons of God.
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. 12 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Their are times in my life when I want to give up the good fight of faith. Sometimes I have to refocus and be quite so I can hear the Holy Spirit direct me back on path again. There are times that I get caught up in the journey toward’s being more like Jesus that I forget what called me to Jesus. It was His love for me in spite of my sins and confusion that beckoned me to come and find peace and rest for my soul.
It is difficult journey for many of us that follow Jesus. It is not often we see a lot of peace and joy. You see that is because we are always surrounded by sin and decay, brokenness from others and yes even ourselves at times. We are constantly under fire from the world that is around us and to boot we are being refined in that fire.
How do we sustain and say on course? What keeps us going? That love from Jesus that beckoned us to come when we were weary and down trodden and broken. We must not think to highly of ourselves. Jesus is still working on us all. Instead we should move and act in the same grace and mercy that was shown us and still is each day.
Be encouraged followers of Jesus. Jesus see’s you and He cares. Continue to love others and help them along the journey . This is how God intended for it to be. Then when we get to heaven, we will be abel to look around us and see all the lost souls we helped Jesus bring home for eternity to be with him. This is our Joy and Peace.
These scriptures above were written for followers of Christ Jesus. Praying and uplifting all followers of Christ Jesus everyday that we would hunger and thirst for the lost in our families and world today. That we would live and act in such a way that they would see the love that Jesus has for them.
God see’s you and cares about you….
