A Standard For Christians

I came upon this chapter this morning as I did my devotionals and was in prayer. I was confessing my sins and calling them out to the Lord, naming them when I found this chapter in the bible. Some of you already know that I believe the bible to be the undeniable word of God. That the word was with God before the earth was formed and the word is Christ Jesus. That being said when I want to know something about myself or what Jesus excpects from me I go to him or him in his word. Which is alive and revealed to me by his spirit.

You might being saying right about now. Ok Tom so whats your point . Just this Know that words are powerful and alive. They give life and take it away. God is alive today and so is his word. We should be careful what we say and think.

Please allow me to share the scripture below with you today. It makes no difference what you struggle with or if you are struggling with anything at all at this time. This Holy scripture will bring you new life and direction towards Christ Jesus who is Lord over your life. If you will study the scripture. Many blessings to you today and happy fathers day to all you dad’s out there .

Psalm 15 New Living Translation (NLT)

Psalm 15 A psalm of David.

1 Who may worship in your sanctuary, Lord? Who may enter your presence on your holy hill? 2 Those who lead blameless lives and do what is right, speaking the truth from sincere hearts. 3 Those who refuse to gossip or harm their neighbors or speak evil of their friends. 4 Those who despise flagrant sinners, and honor the faithful followers of the Lord, and keep their promises even when it hurts. 5 Those who lend money without charging interest, and who cannot be bribed to lie about the innocent. Such people will stand firm forever.

  1. The incredible thing about Jesus and Father giving us the Holy Spirit is we are now God’s sanctuary. No need to go into the sanctuary; it is already in us. Happy Father’s Day, Tom.

  2. Yes dear Susan you are so right. If we accept him into our life. David was talking about fellowship with God and eternity. He was looking at eternity and heaven. I would say anytime we go to pray or into the presence with God we are on Holy ground. We are in his sanctuary . It is only in his sanctuary that we find rest. It is so sweet to know that the Spirit of God dwells within us if we will but let him. Thanks for the blessing.

  3. These verses are powerful…it is a high standard- one that is impossible to attain without the Holy Spirit guiding and leading our every thought and action. Psalm 51 is one I say often…create in me a clean and pure heart… Lord, purify me daily…continually… Happy Father’s Day 🙂
