Kelly’s Monument

This post is for all the folks that have lifted up Our family through the last year . These folks are from throughout the world. Like the body of Christ it is all kinds of folks all over the world. Back when God put it on my heart to start this blog. We had no ideal we would lose Kelly. She was our only daughter and very precious to us . Her death blind sided us. We did not want to go on with life. Well God had other ideals. Instead of turning away from God we turned towards him. This was exactly what God wanted us to do. God used a terrible accident that took our only daughter Kelly and used it to do so many things that, well her death is still being used right now.

Kelly was a wayward child like her dad was when he was young. I wont go into her journey but I will say this. God restored her and was using her around the world to reach neglected and troubled teens. She was in Rwanda Africa and had just come home. She was taken from us while on a vacation to rest with some of her friends and associates. Well I remember the day  so well. A few days later we were spun into the motion of burying a daughter. Funerals are hectic and you do it and never really know what you are doing. It’s all done in shock.

I needed someone to write something for me to say at my daughters funeral. I could not do it myself. Some would say you spoke at your daughters funeral. Yes I surely did at the call of the Holy Spirit. I did something else completely out of character for me. I asked a man I barely knew thousands of miles away from me to write that something for me. His name was Paul Grace he writes  by the name http://Just Me Being Curious. Little did I know that he would become the iron that sharpened my soul and a dear friend always. What he wrote touched the life’s of so many folks that day. What I shared did to. This was all done out of obedience to the Lord. Paul thank you for writing that letter for us brother. Here is Kelly’s Monument for the folks that carried us through thank you my dear brothers and sisters in Christ.

  4. Oh, Tom. Thank you for sharing this with us. I didn’t know about your dear daughter. How sad when a child is taken before her parents. The memorial is gorgeous. And she’s gone from this world. Praying for you and your wife. Anniversaries like this are so hard.

      1. It sounds like you’ve been working very hard, my friend, at being human. I’m sad and glad to know what’s happening. I haven’t been visiting as much this summer as I wanted to, either. God bless you!

  5. Simply beautiful. Thank you for sharing your heart here. I am so sorry. In the midst of such sorrow you continue to praise Him. You display courage and hope, such attributes of which I am certain overflow as a direct result of your committed relationship with Christ. May God continue to strengthen and comfort your family. The greatest comfort I have known is that though our flesh fails, through Salvation in Christ, we will be ushered into His presence and be with Him for eternity. Praise God!
    God bless you all!
